I did it in widescreen, but for some reason it uploaded it in vertical.

I don't see any video (?), but the LED on the monitor makes me think it could be a modern monitor?  If so you likely need to set the software to highres in config.txt

EDIT: looks like a new post with vid has appeared...

set high res in config.txt AND remove the DAC from the RaspberryJAMMA board (lleave the HDMI end in plugged into the Pi) and plug your monitors VGA cable into the DAC directly.  Should have it all up and running.

weird, though.  when I use this, the image boots, but it freezes. there is also a yellow lightning bolt in the upper right.

I'm using the image directly from arpicade

Lightning bolt is the Pis indicator that your 5v is low.  Low 5v could also be the reason it freezes.

Adjust it carefully to avoid damage through making it too high, idealy use a multimeter (or similar) to read the 5v at the JAMMA board whille you raise it.

Quote from: MarkOZLAD on Mar 19, 2026, 04:25 PMHey dee2er, any chance of getting the update for smoothing out FBNeo?

Sorry had to surprise move house and office, still waiting for NBN connection. Just for you, I've uploaded what I had done before having to pack my office up using my phone....
https://mega.nz/file/QhsgyBoB#Ld7_owOBgXBhdWlbTuF4lh5n0WeS6ClNh-FG_lfMRvQ
replaces fbneo and the RA binary and a few other things... I hadn't finished tweaking it unfortunately but it should be an improvement.  It may be worth having a backup image available in case I hadn't finished copying the newest files or something else goes wrong.  Still sorting out the new office, I'll be back to normal posting etc. soon.

Looks like it'l be another week before I have a real internet connection again.  It's already 5 days past when it was to be done originally...

Hey guys
Just a question with rotating display on 3.11
I used the service menu and it rotates the main menu (and of course the games), but there are still certain menus such as retroarch ones and the main bootup screen etc, that are all oriented the wrong way still.
I remember a while back seeing something related to themes, or am i missing something else

thanks. Those results seem to be aimed at games not rotating.
All games and main game menu are perfect.
Just when pressing f1 for retroarch settings is sideways
Have i missed something

OK try this:

To fix a sideways RetroArch screen,
navigate to Settings > Video > Output > Video Rotation and set it to Normal, 90, 180, or 270 deg to correct the orientation. If the menu is unreadable, you may need to edit the retroarch.cfg file directly, setting video_rotation to 0, 1, 2, or 3.
Quick Fix Solutions:

Change Orientation in Settings: Go to Settings > Video > Output > Video Rotation. If it is a vertical game (TATE mode), you may need to set this to 90 or 270 degrees.
Fix via retroarch.cfg: Open your retroarch.cfg file in a text editor and change the video_rotation value to "0" (landscape).
Android/Mobile: If using Android, toggle your device's auto-rotate feature off and on, or use a force-rotation app to lock it to landscape.
Core Options: Sometimes this is caused by a specific core (e.g., Arcade/MAME). Go to Quick Menu > Options and check for Screen Orientation or Tate Mode settings.

Important Tips:

Ensure Settings > User Interface > Show Advanced Settings is turned ON to see all video options.
After rotating, go to Main Menu > Configuration File > Save Current Configuration to lock in the change.
