Worthy 3P-4P Console Games (other than Dreamcast)?

Was wondering if anyone ran any 4P console games on their cabinets (other than Dreamcast games)?  Are there any decent N64 or Playstation 4P games out there that can be played in a cabinet?

How about any PC games that can run on the Pi5/ARpiCADE?

I'm looking to push this Pi5 a little... and frankly,  there really aren't many 3P-4P games that require the horsepower of the Pi5...

Upgrading from the Pi4 for me wasn't really necessary... but it was/is nice to be up to v 5.2 of ARpiCADE vs the BETA version of 4... so there's always that.  It was also a fun project while it lasted (which wasn't too long as upgrading was pretty darned easy overall).

:D

You make stuff too easy, man...

Haven't done N64 emulation yet (on any version of ARpiCADE), it was a great 4 player console but I don't know how many N64 games would play well on arcade stick based controls.  Maybe I need to get around to that...

There was a four player Pacman game I wanted to try (I think it was a homebrew version of an arcade game that isn't in MAME), but the version I found was reported to have malware in it...  There's bound to be some cool PC stuff that would work, the trick is figuring out what it is and finding it.   I should try Steam on it, it ran on Pi4 years ago using Box86 and WINE but Pi4 was a bit slow for actually playing much.  Ultimate Chicken Horse would be fun on a cab with four players (assuming it's full speed on a Pi5...).

I tried a homebrew Win32 arcade shmup recently but hit WINE Vulkan errors and gave up without investiating further.  If you're going to try Windows games they need to be 32bit (for Box86) and may require WINE tweaking or extra DLLs etc.

Cool... no Playstation 2 games (does ARpiCADE do PS2?)?

I was reading there are some native Linux games out there too.. not sure if any are 4P.

Not sure about PS2, Gamecube/Wii is also a maybe for Pi5.  I haven't actually tried either yet though, so not in ARpiCADE even if it works great, at least for now.  PS2 required extra adaptors for 4 player so probably doesn't have a huge four player selection (although it does have a huge library...).

I am guessing there hasn't been any newer "cave era" 4P games that have come out?

EDIT: It seems Knights of Valour 3 (PGM2) is the latest 4P game out... at least that's what AI tells me.

From what I can tell Knights of Valor 3 is only four player in the test inputs menu, the game is 2 player.  Given the PGM2 could plainly handle four players and the previous games were 4 player it's an odd choice.

This could be worth a try:

(EDIT: it looks like a 4 player Wizard of Wor ish game)
another edit: Locomalio seems to have a bunch of low res arcadey titles to their name... I downloaded Verminian Trap to have a look, I assume if I get it working their other games could also work (but the other one I looked at was 1 player only).
Again with the editing: Verminian Trap works great, from a quick 1 player test.

Welp,  I was mistaken.  I have a KOV2 version from 2008 that is also PGM2 and it is 4P.   I do not have KOV3 installed currently... I do know that on the KOV2 version mentioned above there is a 2P/4P setting in the service menu.  Not so on KOV3?

It's possible KOV3 had a dedicated rom for four player but the menu options as used by the other 4 player PGM/PGM2 games isn't there in the rom I tried.  4 player must have been at least planned during the games development as it has a four player input test and is a sequel to four player games.  The later Oriental Legend game on PGM2 was 4 player, it's weird that KOV3 isn't.
