Great post.

I've been experimenting with using a spread sheet program to manipulate Attract-Mode rom lists, quickly and easily.  You can import the allGames romlist txt file (or which ever you like) into spreadsheet software using the semicolons as delimiters (keep empty collumns), organise the data however you want eg. by developer, then copy all the fields from the subgroup that you wanted (in this example it's all games by a particular dev) and paste it to a new spreadsheet.  Spreadsheets (as long as you keep any empty fields) can  then be exported back into text files (set semicolon delimiter and turn off any options that may change the info in the fields like quotes).  If you name your new text file [developers_name].txt (eg. atari.txt) (or whatever suits how you organised the info) and pop it back into the attract-mode romlists folder.  Now you can select an attract-mode list of just the Atari arcade games you have installed.

I used free software called Planmaker to do this but I'm sure other office suites could also do it too.
