Hi guys

Im two minds about potentially getting an arpicade 4 player setup for my Australian LAI 4 player turtles cabinet.
Going to have a talk with my brother to see if he thinks its worth it and if the cabinet will get more use with more games on that particular cabinet. Or whether to just leave it as a dedicated TMNT pcb only.

In the arpicade 4 player PDF - my query is regarding the 'K' Konami pinout
On page 6 of the arpicade 4 player manual, it states that pin 11 is not connected

So, in the TMNT arcade manual PDF, youll notice that page 3 has pin 11 also listed as not connected/empty as well.
I found that strange, since i knew the wiring for these LAI cabinets used pin 11.

Then , on page 7 of that very same manual - youll see that Pin 11 is actually utilised for 'service switch' e.g. Service switch 3, and Service Switch 4 - contradicting their previous page 3.
Fail on Konamis behalf in documentation.

And its not limited to TMNT either.
I took a look at the Vendetta arcade manual and same deal. Early in the document it says its not used for pin 11 - but again the very last page of the manual in the diagram, shows Pin 11 on those connectors are service switches as well!
So its not in fact 'not connected', it serves a function, just poorly documented.

The service switches for both turtles games, Vendetta etc - is to apply a credit to the nominated character without triggering the coin meter.

I dont really care about the coin meter aspect, more so care about rewiring my cabinet.
On an original LAI Australian TMNT arcade cabinet, the 4 'credit' switches inside the door are all connected to 'service' switches for player 1 to 4, rather than connected to say, the 'pin 1' coin pins.

So my question is - on the arpicade 4 player setup, is pin 11 effectively just dead, or if a wire is connected to pin 11, can it still be mapped in MAME  (in other words, can the 4 player arpicade setup be used with my current service switch setup - without having to rewire the cabinets service switches, if i wanted to utilise those service switches inside my TMNT cabinets door)

thanks!!

oddly enough, on the 'k' headers pin 11 is actually connected for dedicated service credit lines (and also duplicated on the four player adaptor using the buttons labeled 3 & 4)

I'd have to dig through old code to be sure but I suspect I hadn't set them up in the old four player driver... on Pi5 they should send a '-' and '=' keypress respectively (the MAME defaults for p3and4 service credits).
